Jal El Dib Public School
Jal El Dib Public School
Jal El Dib, Metn, Lebanon 2006

This project was developed as part of the national public schools program in Jal El Dib, within the Metn District. It was commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in collaboration with the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR).

The school is built on a 2,628 m² site with a total built-up area of approximately 7,000 m². Designed to accommodate around 400 secondary school students, the facility provides a modern educational environment that combines academic, administrative, and recreational spaces.

The development is organized into two interconnected buildings linked by a central circulation hall.

Block 1 is a six-story linear building that primarily accommodates the administrative offices, classrooms, and a covered playground overlooking an open-air playground situated approximately three meters above the lower access road.

Block 2 is a four-story rectangular building positioned perpendicular to Block 1. It houses the school's specialized facilities, including a multipurpose hall with an independent entrance from the lower access road, science laboratories, technical workshops, a library, and a covered basketball court located on the roof level, which is independently accessible from the main entrance on the upper road.

The Central Hall serves as the principal circulation spine of the campus. Horizontally, it connects the two buildings, while vertically, it links the main entrance at the upper road level with the secondary entrance at the lower road, ensuring efficient circulation throughout the complex.

The second basement level is dedicated to parking facilities, accommodating 10 buses and 49 vehicles, with direct vehicular access from the lower road.

Designed to contemporary educational standards, the project integrates functional planning, efficient circulation, and high-quality learning spaces to create a safe, flexible, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and visitors.
